happy birthday!

HAPPY 1st BIRTHDAY LSA!!!

yesterday was the one-year anniversary of the shop being open.
we partied to celebrate.

THANKS TO EVERYONE WHO HAS SUPPORTED US ALONG THE WAY! :)

rainy/sunny/rainy/sunny/rainy/etc/etc/etc.

it was a damp morning so drew & i decided to
have a pricing party...
...but then it got sunny so we grabbed some
chalk/ran outside/kidnapped tj/coloured/defaced the sidewalk/etc.
boba fett shops at LSA... so it MUST be awesome,
but apparently he doesn't like flowers.
(tj has mad chalk skills - duh.)kristen helped out and showed me some love with her artwork.
all done!

but then...
the rain... well... it rained on our parade and this is all that was left:
colourful puddles.it was basically a monsoon......so obviously drew had to play in it.(rain makes christopher & i have bad posture.)

BUT THEN.
after the rain washed all of our artwork away...
the sun decides to show it's face again.

(so much i was squinting)
what the heck is up with today?!?
<3,
the family @ LSA.

EDIT:
20 minutes after the above photo - when i ventured out for a
caffeinated beverage - it rained. again.
there goes the hope for chalk v2.0.

drip. drop.

one of my favourite things about coming in to the shop on a rainy day is picking appropriate music for the first few moments when the lights are still off and the whole place just seems so... quiet. moments that are use to get myself organized and prepped for the shift ahead. the shins took the early shift and now sufjan is keeping the raindrops company.

days like today are relaxing... refreshing.
even here at work.
alone.
i keep myself busy with little tasks and little thoughts.

also.
there seems to be a trend occurring.
does this face......look like it's in need of caffeine?
it must.
because...
coffee has magically come into my possession with every shift i work here in the village.

life is grand.
stay dry kiddies!

my friends are so nice!

p.s. christopher got new shoes a couple days ago, but neglected to post about it.
i think they deserve to be mentioned.
aren't they rad?

blog'd!

"YOU'RE BEING BLOG'D!!!"

drew made lunch.
he is a sandwich maker extraordinaire.
christopher got us a 6 pack.
(of free cupcakes.)brittany, christopher & drew in the form of 2 'cakes each.
(mmmmint & pbchoco!)

drew stuffed his face.
i like cupcakes.
and talking with my moufffffulll.
(apparently.)
"that model chick is so jealous!"
"eat cupcake, model!"
cheers to the fam-a-lee.
(note that drew's is only the top.
his taking-the-cupcake-out-of-the-box-skills suck.)

we sure made quick work of those...
a friend for my travel mug was dropped off.
mmmmocha.
and then!
(when i thought the day couldn't get any better!)
lynlea (with AA next-door-neighb-pal kristen) dropped by with second cup slushies & puff'd wheat!
visits make me happy.
and feel special.
"i think i'm in need of a new picture face..." - k.
"yah, and something other than the middle finger." - b.
"i'll stop giving the finger when you smile with your teeth!" - k.
"pffffft!" - b.
*giggles* - l.
"and you!" (pointing at l.) "you never shut your mouth anymore!" - k.
*laughing* - l.
"fine. smiles with teeth?" - b.

SMILEZ WIF TEEF.

i like working here.

it's a fashion affair.

on sunday, may 25th, the franco-manitoban cultural centre played host to the fashion affair - a local fashion show featuring 8 designers from the winnipeg area.

the night was a hit with all the proceeds going towards a great cause!
(project ubuntu at collège louis-riel - a project that builds links with people and communities in africa. right now, they are focusing on rwanda, with a goal of building links that will assist in education, health care and the development of small businesses - rad!)

the L.S.A. family was there in full force!
as were lots of friends!all of the above photos were shot by our favourite - brit!
